My cat was just diagnosed with diabetes. I’m also diabetic and test my sugar level throughout the day using a glucometer. I haven’t spoken with the vet yet, but does anyone know if you can even test a cat’s sugar by yourself without having to go/pay for the vet?

The insulin is really expensive and I’m trying to do the best that I can. Visiting the vet every few weeks is something that I just can’t afford, no matter how much I’d love to. Is this the only way to tell if the insulin is the correct amount? How would you even know if it was making the cat hypoglycemic? Thank you.

My father IS Diabetic and today i had him take my sugar level and it was 171. Does this mean I am Diabetic too? How bad is this level? Iam 32 year old female if that matters.

He is tking some meds, but still his sugar level gets too high. Any suggestions?

have a hard time maintaining my sugar level i know how to get it to rise but cant keep it up long enough i have to wake up in the middle of the night to eat because my level drops down too low what can i eat before i go to bed at 10 pm that will keep my sugar level up high enough till i wake up at 7am?

I took a blood sugar test around 1.5 hours after I had lunch and ice-cream.
I found it weird my sugar level was 5.1 then since my lunch was carbohydrate based and I also had a coke.

A friend of mine is not taking medication for diabetes because he has no money or insurance. He drank apple juice to try to keep his sugar level good and then he tested positive for alcohol. Could this be true?
I was getting ready to have him go to the free clinic when this occurred; he was living at a homeless shelter and they kicked him out; I don’t know where he is now but he does realize how important it is that he gets some medication/treatment for his diabetes.

I am a prediabetic with fasting blood sugar reading of 125 on 10 hours absolute fasting. Last night I ate three small palm-size plain cheese pizzas. Today I am having a sort of headache and the stomach is not free.

Does eating pizza rasie the blood sugar?? Will a person get headaches if sugar level is high in his or her body??

I have a diabetic freind he said his blood sugar is high at night so he eats a tea spoon of peanut butter at night to lower his sugar level. Is there any fact to this?
