I have been run down for about a year and a half. I was training for the London marathon last year and suddenly felt run down. Haven’t really got back to normal since. Tried allergy tests, hay fever pills, vitamin supplements, magnesium supplement, been to the docs to say felt run down – no further forward.

More recently, marginal blood sugar test (6.4) but follow up test at docs normal. I went to see the doc because I’d had a dizzy spell – doc did say I had low blood pressure but blood sugar test follow up and total blood count both normal.

So any ideas? Back to docs for more tests?

I am takeing 3 pills a day and I still find myself hovering around 160’s – 190’s 1 pill is metformin 500mg 2 times a day and the the other is Amaryl 1mg. Every morning when I get up my numbers are higher then any other time of the day. What can I do to help get my sugar levels down more. I am a long ways from 100-120 which I understand to be normal.

in which form its best taken? are there any pills, a recipe for a cool drink?

My blood sugar has been on average 320 for the last five days. I am new to diabetes so I asked my doc. All she did was up one of my pills (glucophag) by one dose a day. That was 2 days ago and there is no change. I am at 344 right now and I don’t feel well. I just hate to go to the emergency room if it isn’t urgent.

Any suggestions are helpful. I am on metformin and glucophag and do diet and exercise to stay level. It all worked until suddenly five days ago. All of a sudden, it went to 465 and has bounced from 220 to 385 since.
I spoke to my new doctors nurse and she said to pound down water til I could see him today. It helped!

Thanks to all who answered. It’s scary being lost in a new illness and depressing so searching for the answers was just making it worse. Now, I am on insulin so I should be doing better in no time.

I started to take the pills about for a month now and when my blood test was taken it went up and i read that the pill Aygestin cause blood sugar to rise.

i have typ 2 and i take pills twice a day. morning and evening before meals and insulin shots before going to bed per doctors orders. was told to keep count as close to 100 as i can. last night around 7 pm reading was 245, this morning at 7:30 reading was 150. told it was suppossed to be around 90 for morning reading.

I am diabetic and trying to get off all the med’s the doctors give you that are chemicals and make you gain weight. I am eating a very healthy and nutritional diet(now),and doing alot of exercise 5 days a week…. but my blood sugar is still very high, need help fight this battle.
I am still taking my insulin shots 2 times a day, but not all the other pills.

I am diabetic and I am looking for the best natural way of keeping my blood sugar stable and low without taking insulin or too many pills

My dad has diabetes but he doesn’t like taking his pills (lysinopril) and he wants to find a natural alternative.

My dad is NOT diabetic, but he took cortisone via I.V (4000 mg in 5 days) then 20 pills of cortancyl 20 mg for 15 days. After that his glucose blood level ranges between 120-135. The glycosylated hemoglobin level is normal (5.3). Is there any relation between the cortisone and glucose elevation? Does he have to repeat the test? When?
