I’ve started monitoring my blood sugar at my doctors direction. I’m using Accu-Check aviva. My level when I wake up is around 150 .. during the day its around 110 whether its 4 hours after lunch or 2 hours after dinner. Is this normal? I thought it should be lower after 8 hours of fasting.

I have acne problems, and I think part of it might be because I skip lunch and then my blood sugar rises too much when I eat later. Is there anything I could eat throughout the day that can keep my blood sugar stable. ( It need to be subtle so I don’t get caught eating in class)

I read somewhere that you can eat and then take your blood sugar exactly 2 hours after eating. And that this can be a good idication on if you have diabetes or not. My sister and I share this account and she has diabetes so I am going to use her meter. I have been having symptoms of diabetes so I want to test my sugar 2 hours after eating. What should I eat? I am going to do it tomorrow at lunch. Thanks so much please answer the question and don’t just tell me to see the doc. I know that. Thanks again

i felt shaky before lunch, so i tested my b.s. with my wife’s meter, 78 was the test result. if this is normal why am i shaky?

My doc scheduled a panel of tests to be done the same day I visited her, but evidently forgot that one should fast before a blood sugar test. (If I had known that was one of the tests, I would have spoken up.)

Result of BS test: 105. Last year’s was 98.

The secretary said 105 was fine if I had eaten first. Well, I had – breakfast and lunch. The test was at 4:30 pm.

Does at 105 sound like anything to worry about, given the circumstances? She said they like it to be below 99, but having eaten first would raise the test #.

I just learned that I’m diabetic, and been testing myself 2-3 times a day for several days now. Here’s the result, and I wanna see what you guys think.
At morning, it’s usually 80 to 95
Eat breakfast, goes to 130 or so, and than take my metformin (1000mg)
Work, 5 hours later, lunch. Numbers varies from 140 to 170 cause I eat a lot.
Than 5 hours later, dinner. Numbers varies, depending if I eat higher carb items like rices but the last few nights, around 122 to 150. I spike once to 200 with rices.(than 1k mg of medicine)
Maybe a snack before bed, though I don’t test.

I test these all of them one day and tested from every 10 minutes after i started meal to see what my number peaks are at. I’ve read that it should be 180 or less after a meal, and test 1 or 2 hours after eating. Well, my highest number happen to be at 30 minutes and 50 minutes. SHould I trust those numbers? At 2 hours, It goes to fasting numbers.

Thanks.
p.s: my medicine is a 12 hours differences, 2000mg a day. But eat and test before I take the medicine.
Thanks, I already research pretty badly on this subject. As for diets, I’m attempting what I think is best, and the results aren’t that bad. Losing 15 pounds in 3 weeks, numbers (imo) is well within normal. Plus, 2 hours after meal? That’s not what works best for me. 2 hours for me would be back at fasting level, because I process food pretty damn fast so the peak glucose result is usually at 30 to 1 hours. And I got no doctor to go talk to, expensive and no insurance. So, I’ll have to make do with what I learn. Thanks all.

I have 4 to 6 apples as breakfast,, a similar amount for lunch and an asortment of dinners daily.
I also take all necessary vitamin suplements.
I have a feeling I may be getting too much sugar in my system as I do not do much excercise.
Any comments from anyone ?

I took a blood sugar test around 1.5 hours after I had lunch and ice-cream.
I found it weird my sugar level was 5.1 then since my lunch was carbohydrate based and I also had a coke.

Some doctors say it is to be taken after having break fast and some others say it should be done after having regular lunch, Which one is correct?

My sister just took my blood a couple hours after I ate lunch and it was 119. Is this considered high?
