I am curious to know what symptoms diabetics feel at each elevation tier of blood sugar. Is there a chart or a website where I can gain information on it? I do not have any symptoms that change as my blood sugar goes up. I feel the same way having a blood sugar of 90 or 300, and when I check it I am always curious to see the number because I can not guess it from how I feel. The only difference is if it drops below 90, then I can feel the shakiness and weakness, etc.
I am just doing a short term test. The first day was fine, but now my fingers really hurt, and I am jumping when I prick my fingers.
No one seems to comment on this, so I guess I am sensitive. I am trying to use different points and also on the side where I am told that there are less nerve endings.
I don’t know how diabetics do this every day, on top of injections. It must be difficult.
Any tips?
I think that semen does have certain amounts of sugars in it. but my question is, does masturbation actually increase or decrease blood sugar? but when you get excited, your heart rate speeds up and your body taps into sugar reserves for energy… my family has a history of diabetics so its important I know if masturbation is bad for a possible diabetic.
I was recently diagnosed with diabetes (controlled through exercise and diet, no meds at this time). I’ve gone to a ton of websites and read literature on diabetes, but cannot find a straight answer about testing my blood sugar.
For diabetics out there….
When should I test?
Should I test after fasting (say after sleeping) or before a meal?
How soon after a meal should I test?
How many times a day?
Thanks for your help! ![]()
I was just doing some reading about the glycemic index. The high glycemic foods cause a sudden spike and fall of the consumer’s blood sugar level which makes them feel hungry shortly after.
Now, since diabetics can’t produce or don’t produce enough insulin…. Meaning that they have high blood sugar if they don’t take their medicine. So, putting 2 and 2 together, and untreated diabetic would never feel hungry, correct?
low blood sugar blood test?
08/07/10
okay. i have been feeling horrible for a while so my doc ordered some blood tests. he got the results back the other day and it showed i have very low blood sugar . so he wants to do another test called hemoglobin a1c. now i looked this up and its a test for diabetes? which i am confused because i have been tested for diabetes before and do not have it. does he suspect i have it now? or is this test also for low blood sugar as well?
and i thought why some diabetics get low blood sugar was because of their medicines .
I read somewhere that the spice fenugreek can reduce blood sugar and therefore good for diabetics. I checked it on Google and it is full of stories about how good it is for diabetic. If you’ve ever used it or heard about it please share your information with this community
I’ve always wondered if I could use a blood testing unit like the ones diabetics use to monitor my blood sugar for purposes of weight loss. I’d have to know more, though, like what is a healthy number and what is unhealthy. Is this a useful strategy, or would it only confuse me or make me paranoid, like checking the scale three times a day would?
in diabetics
and I’m not saying it should be a substitute for insulin or other treatments, just asking why it is reccommended
I can say whatever the HELLL I want. In diabetics I sure do hope that you can answer this question with all my bad grammuur and spelling. and this one lady on yahoo answers, she pissed me off cause she "corrected my grammer" instead of answering my question. And I’m not diabetic.
Is testing Type 2 Diabetics (who are pregnant) for Gestational diabetes the same kind of testing as it would be for a normal woman who is pregnant? I’ve Had three kids already and was not diabetic when I was pregnant with them, before or after. And when they did the routine gestational diabetes testing they gave me a high concentration of sugar or better known as glucose. I have recently been told from my OB physician that he will still need to perform this test to see if I have developed the gestational kind. I wasn’t thinking at the time, but today I was watching a video that reminded me of what they do for this testing and I am now concerned about having to drink this high sugary drink. Does anyone know if the procedure is different for someone like myself? I have tried to google this info, but no luck and YES I will ask my doctor as soon as possible but it is the weekend so I need some peace of mind if that is possible.
In your wondering how far along I am…I am 13 weeks today, the beginning of my 2nd trimester. Just thought I’d share!:)
I found out I was Diabetic this last January and the cause could be a result from my PCOS that I was recently diagnosed with as well. I take medication for the combination and monitor my Diabetes 4 times a day. I also monitor my Ketones. Quite frankly I think I am the healthiest I have been in years. I too am confused why the Doctor still wants to check for Gestational Diabetes..but hey he is a doctor. I do also see an Endocribnologist. I guess I should ask him if it is nessecery for this procedure.
