I just started going to a new doctor, and I had blood tests done to check my blood glucose and chloroestrol (sp). I had my blood drawn over 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything back. How long does these test usually take, and do I have to call the office or will they mail something?

i have to wait a few weeks for an ovarian scan to rule out PCOS as the cause of my irregular, infrequent menstrual cycle, & i heard insulin resistance can cause this. i have had many blood tests done before, one a few weeks back, and my glucose levels are always normal. is it likely i could have insulin resistance despite this? i am BMI of 20.5.

okay. i have been feeling horrible for a while so my doc ordered some blood tests. he got the results back the other day and it showed i have very low blood sugar . so he wants to do another test called hemoglobin a1c. now i looked this up and its a test for diabetes? which i am confused because i have been tested for diabetes before and do not have it. does he suspect i have it now? or is this test also for low blood sugar as well?
and i thought why some diabetics get low blood sugar was because of their medicines .
high blood glucose level?

Hi, so I took some blood tests earlier this month and the results came back yesterday. The Doctor said I had a high blood glucose level (6.80) and I had to retake the test again on tuesday to make sure.
However, the glucose in my urine came back negative and today I took the glucose test where they prick the finger and it read 4.3. I was wondering if the first blood test might have made some mistake because it also said I had high allergies which is false.. I’m 17 by the way..
blood sugar?

Had some blood tests taken about a month ago and i went back to the doctor wednesday to review the blood tests. He said everything was normal except my blood sugar was 100. The reason i went to the doctor is because i was having sleepy spells and my mind was foggy. I have days like where i just dont feel normal. Its like its my blood sugar causing it. Like today i got a little shakey and had to eat something. Then when i ate a sandwhich i got tired. The doctor told me that i was "pre-diabetic" and to cut down on what i eat and excersise. The night before i went to the doctor i slept 3 hours. The next day after i slept 8 hours i felt weird. Could it be my sleeping pattern causing my blood sugar to do this? Im 15 and yes im overweight. I want some advice on how to eat the right foods and excersise right. Or anyone who has diabeties how do they treat theres? The doctor didnt say anything about putting me on medication. He said to watch haha.
They told me to fast all night and I have but is there ANYTHING at all I can atleast take a few bites of that wont affect the test..I am a fainter and when getting blood tests done I have to eat otherwise I know im gna faint…THANKS.
( I do not have diabeties, least I don’t know yet ) DO NOT TELL ME of blood tests, tell me of Blood glucose meter strip tests.
Alright, so after I took my blood test at the doctor, my blood sugar was 104, a bit high. I was worried for a good while so I went to my aunt to take a glucose meter test, and she said its completely diffierent from the blood test tsince they test my Ag1 something. So they took it, and my blood glucose reading was 106 and they said that was good. They said anything pretty close to 140 was bad.
Was that good? lol want to make sure.
Hi i recently went to the docs because my pulse rhythm feels abnormal and i sometimes get palpitations. Anyways the doc gave me an ecg (all clear) and took some blood tests. All came back fine except the one concerning my blood glucose levels, this came back as abnormal and they want me to go in again repeat the test. Could this have anything to do with my heart rhythm being off track? I feel like my heart beat misses some beats and sometimes has extra beats added in. It just feels somewhat irregular. Is this something to be concerned about? When I go back tomorrow I will bring it up as I am still having symptoms. Im 23 male by the way who eats reasonably well and exercise on a regular basis. thanks in advance for you input

87-year old, legally blind mother can’t see to read results of her daily in-home blood tests. There must be numerous blind people with diabetis. How do they read/determine results of their daily blood sugar tests?
