Is this a normal fasting blood glucose level?
i’m 17. my grandmother had type 1 diabetes. but that’s all i know of. my doctor gave me a fasting blood test and the lab results came in and my fasting (8 hours without eating) glucose level was 100. i go back in tuesday for a follow up. should i get another test done? it said abormal and 100 H (high) on the page. i had symptoms of diabetes so that’s why i went to get tested. and the normal range is 70-99. so what should i do?

I am 60 and have been working very hard to exercise as well as watch my diet— both quantity and quality since two months ago when I took a blood glucose test and was shocked to discover it’s as high as 180.

My progress so far includes 120-130 of morning pre-meal blood glucose level; weight loss of 22 lbs; and average blood pressure/pulse read as 110-60-60 instead of 130-75-75 (I’ve taken blood pressure medication for years, and just cut it from one pill to 1/2 pill a day on my own and so far for days the reading has steadily stayed at current level.)

Despite so many positive progress, my frustration and major concern lie in the standstill of my blood glucose level, which fast dropped in the first couple of weeks then have stayed ever since within 120-130, still above the normal range. I need your experience and opinions telling me if I still have hope to improve without resorting to diabetic medication.

my brother is diabetic and it is II type. He is taking the combination therapy Glibenclamid and Metformin, but his blood glucose level is rising . it about 250mg/dl and he is in trouble now. is doctor is advising him to take insulin but he has a field work. because he is a solider. please if you have a solution for this problem if there is another treatment option or management for this case.

I need to know the normal blood glucose level for gold fish, and the normal range which it may fluctuate. Also, is there a place online where I can find this kind of information?

Thank you for your help!

Hi folks does anyone know why doctor Maya sanghavi doesn’t do the regular blood glucose level test which is mandatory in US for the past 20 years or so, i just found out during my second pregnancy that it is important and I remember she never sent me for a glucose test.
Though she is a good doctor still I found her very annoying and very bossy and she thinks most patients are dumb.!!!

Hi I am living in canada? I want to buy a blood glucose level monitor for my father. My father is living in india.one of my friend told if u buy the machine in canada it shows the unit like 1, 2.3…., but in india it shows like 100. 120…… and my friend told u can also buy it here the only thing is u have to multiply the unit in 20 (if it shows 6 means 6multiply 20=120) is it correct ?I searched in the internet it shows u have to multiply with 18. which one is correct? give me the solution please. and which is the best machine?

I did a test at school for blood glucose level. Here are the results:

FIRST: 3 hours after eating: 148 mg/dl
SECOND: 2 hours after eating: 142 mg/dl

If it’s okay, I’d want to be more specific with the activities that could have somehow affected the tests. Minutes prior to the FIRST test, I drunk a small gulp of energy drink. Minutes prior to the SECOND test, there was micturition.

(Sorry for the inaccuracies I caused for the tests. I wasn’t thinking whether it would affect the trial or not.)

What can you say about the results? Am I already diabetic or in risk of diabetes? What dietary advices can you give me to prevent diabetes? Or if I already am diabetic, what should I eat and not eat? :(

at 11:45 am my blood glucose level was 5.4 mmol dm, then at 1:30 it still remained at that but then at around 3:30 pm it was 4.8 mmol dm…

can anyone please explain to me why the first two time my blood glucose level remained the same while after that it went down?

please i really need your help on this..

Hi, so I took some blood tests earlier this month and the results came back yesterday. The Doctor said I had a high blood glucose level (6.80) and I had to retake the test again on tuesday to make sure.
However, the glucose in my urine came back negative and today I took the glucose test where they prick the finger and it read 4.3. I was wondering if the first blood test might have made some mistake because it also said I had high allergies which is false.. I’m 17 by the way..

I recently had my blood glucose level tested and it was 106. Is that normal? I’m overweight by the way. How can I help lower it? I definitely do not want to be diabetic but I’m headed down that path if I don’t start controlling my health. What are foods I should stay away from? Thanks
