I have all of the following, Hypoglycemia, cold hands/cold feet, average daily temperature 97.7 and low appetite. what blood test should my docotor due to detect a problem?

I was recently diagnosed with diabetes (controlled through exercise and diet, no meds at this time). I’ve gone to a ton of websites and read literature on diabetes, but cannot find a straight answer about testing my blood sugar.

For diabetics out there….
When should I test?
Should I test after fasting (say after sleeping) or before a meal?
How soon after a meal should I test?
How many times a day?

Thanks for your help! :-)

I have low blood sugar and I was wondering if that could ever, possibly turn into diabetes. 4 or 5 sources said yes, and 1 or 2 said no. Just want to clear things up!

Hi,
I may be diabetic and need to know about testing?
What is the procedure used to test for blood glucose. Why would someone want to perform the test? Which glucose would you look for? And what are the chemical reactions and procedures that occur during the test?.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much..

I do in-fact sleep more than 8 hours a night, and I do eat veggies.

I had waaaaaaay to many sweets, chocolates, pies, cookies, donuts, brownies yesterday from Halloween. To the point I felt like throwing up and I felt dizzy. This morning I had oatmeal and bread, and I still feel anxiety, dizzy, confused. I was diagnosed with HYPERglycemia a year ago. How do I get my blood sugar back to normal? THis is awful.

I am 24. Diabetes runs in my family anyways, so i figured I should probably get tested for it. So I went to the doctor and did all the diabetes testing where I had to drink that sweet stuff and then get my blood taken every hour. My results came back that my glucose level was at 365 and my a1c was 7.5? What does all this mean, my doctor didn’t really explain, he just seemed concerned and told me that I need to go the my primary physician to find out more…..
The doctor that wanted me to get all this blood work done was actually my gyno, so he can’t really do much about diabetes. I also was fasting the night before going in for the glucose testing and had the testing done at 8 AM. I am 5′3 and about 128 pounds and very active.
Thank you all for your feedback, it is all very helpful and I plan on going to a specialist ASAP.

Nick Jonas Diabetes biography project for English class. If anyone knows, help please.

I know that a needle needs to be inserted, etc., I need the chemistry aspect of it. What exactly is done to determine how much glucose there is and such? As much detail as possible please!!!
