3 hour glucose test bad blood?
06/09/10
I have to take my 3 hour glucose test tomorrow. From what im told they end up taking your blood 4 times….My problem is,everytime i have ever had to have blood drawn (even little amounts) it is hard for the person drawing it to get blood,so how in the world am i supposed to have it drawn that many damn times?
For the first answer- i took the 1 hour test and it was abnormal which is why they are making me do the 3 hour
For the second- I really dont know what it is,i dont get nervous really,my blood just sucks i guess it might be tiny veins because they never get them to show up,and then when they start flowing theyll just stop or ill almost pass out.
I went to the doc today and told her how I have a sweet metallic taste in my mouth and I thought it might be diabetes. She pulled up my records and said that my recent blood test showed that my blood glucose levels were normal so I can’t have diabetes. I don’t really trust my doctor… So is this true?
I have been recently diagnosed as type 2 diabetic.I am
taking antidiabetic tabs.each morning before breakfast.
I woud like to run blood glucose test myself .The question is if I run a postprandial test 2 hours after breakfast should I skip or take the morning pil ?? Or the test has nothing to do with the pils.?
I am just doing a short term test. The first day was fine, but now my fingers really hurt, and I am jumping when I prick my fingers.
No one seems to comment on this, so I guess I am sensitive. I am trying to use different points and also on the side where I am told that there are less nerve endings.
I don’t know how diabetics do this every day, on top of injections. It must be difficult.
Any tips?
how would a dehydration affect the out come of a blood sugar test
I know high blood sugar can make you dehydration but what if you are dehydrated going into the test
Was it normal for you, or too high (or low)? Why do you think you got that particular result? Also, are you Type 1 or Type 2?
Mine was 99, but I’ve had a successful pancreas transplant. I don’t have to check it. Pre-transplant, if it was 99, I would have to be cautious, because it would usually be on the way down. I probably would have eaten a snack.
Re how my transplant went – I had kidney failure & went on dialysis, so that was the point where I was evaluated & put on the list for a kidney and pancreas.
My results were outstanding; I had to have only one injection of insulin post transplant (because they gave me a huge amount of prednisone), and that was it. They said results like mine are why they do transplants. It’s still a big deal, and there’s not a day that goes by that I’m not thankful for it.
(not a glucose test or donating blood, just a blood test)
I just started going to a new doctor, and I had blood tests done to check my blood glucose and chloroestrol (sp). I had my blood drawn over 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything back. How long does these test usually take, and do I have to call the office or will they mail something?
My blood test came back with the R. Blood Sugar tab checked and the result next to it is 4.2?
